Anticipation is a powerful emotion. I remember as a child anticipating Christmas eve. That is when we got to open our presents. Would that special gift be under the tree?
At times anticipation wakes us up early in the night or we just have a restless night’s sleep. That happens to me if I need to get up early to catch a flight, or be somewhere important. I don’t want to be late.
There is an anticipation that I hope none of us ever experience and that is wondering if the next bomb or missile that falls from the sky is going to land on you. I cannot imagine what living in Israel and Gaza is like today.
The Word of God tells us that there is a day coming, that we all should anticipate, and that is when Jesus returns to this earth. What a glorious period of human history. Then if that is not enough, we can anticipate spending eternity in heaven with Jesus. All Pain and Sorrow will be gone. Hallelujah!
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:3-4 NIV
