God Help Me
Just three words but I have used those three words many times in my life. I usually use them when I feel desperate. Those three words were my last hope.
We needed to find a place to meet as a church because where we were meeting would no longer work. Next Sunday was 6 days away and we had no place to meet. God Help Me find a place. Hours later I made a phone call, and we had a place to meet, a barn but it would work.
We had no chairs and could not afford to buy 50 new chairs. God help me find chairs. Within two days we had 70 used plastic blue chairs. Someone even volunteered to go get them and set them up in the barn.
We had no sound equipment. God help me find sound equipment that we can afford that will get us started in our new location. Once again, God answered, and someone stepped up and bought some entry level sound equipment.
When the time came to find a permanent home, I said God help me find a building we can call our own. In just a few months we purchased a 10,000 square foot bank that we have converted into our present church home.
There is yet one more request I have that includes those three words, God help me. God help me to become the person you created and called me to be. All the other “stuff” is important but what matters most is being who God want me to be.
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” John 15:16 NIV
